Well like the title states, my 5.0 has developed a slight rattle. It had the rattle on start up for a long time, it never really bothered me. I figured it probably was just losing prime on the oil system over night. Now I've noticed when the motor is cold it seems to have a slight lifted rattle on the drivers side, it mostly only happens after you bring it to about 2k and let it idle back down. I also notice a rattle that I thought could have been an exhaust leak, which it does have, but it sounds like a rattle noise more than an exhaust leak really. Its only noticeable at highway speeds under load after it downshifts, so around 3k rpms.
Since I bought it I've also noticed a surging under load.
Could the surging be a mass air problem?
What is the best way of handling this rattle? I don't have the extra cash right now for a full rebuild, its in the plans, just not time for it yet so I need it to last a little longer.
