5.0 swap questions.

I'm planning to swap a 5.0 into my '00 XLS. I was originally going to buy a rolled over donor vehicle to have all of the parts I needed. I haven't had much luck locating a suitable donor (ebay, ridesafely etc...). I started wondering exactly what parts I'm going to need and if it would be easier to just buy everything seperately. I know I'll need the following major components:

Engine
Tranny
Exhaust
Mounts
Engine harness
ECU

I'm not sure about the following:

Transfer Case (Can I keep my current T-case instead of switching to AWD?)
Radiator
guage cluster
driveshafts

What else do I need from the donor vehicle?

I searched for hours and never really found a comprehensive guide to necessary swap parts. I want to make it look like the 5.0 was installed by the factory.

If you want a factory conversion then you will want:
Complete 5.0L engine from 98-01 Explorer
wiring harness and computer
all accessories and brackets
engine mounts

Transmission (4r70W)
exhaust


IN order to retain your T case you will need a Advance Adapters 5" AOD to BW1350 t case adapter and output shaft

You will run into ALOT of potential problems if you DO NOT get all the parts from one truck.

The V8 drivetrain will bolt into your truck.
You will have to re-flash the new V8 computer to work with your trucks PATS module and key.

Auction/classifieds/wrecker is the best place to find your donor

There may also be issues with using a 96-99 V8 computer in your 01, your Gem module may require the use of a 2000 model year 5.0L computer.
