So, in a search to figure out the issue with running my double-cardan front shaft, I have decided to replace my transmission mount, since I'm sure after 165k+ miles, the bushing is pretty much dead.

But I've come into some confusion.
First, I went to CarQuest, since they always hook me up. Oddly, their part (at cost) was almost twice as much as the retail price of a unit from Napa.

When I picked it up from CarQuest, and after I got home to look it over, I almost thought it was just a metal mount without the bushing.
So today, I call up Napa. They order one. I just picked it up, and got home.

They are WAY different. Both are listed as being for the 5.0.
But maybe the CarQuest one was mis-packaged?
I looked at the mount currently on the truck, and the Napa one more closely resembles the OEM.

mounting holes are the same on both units (although, after looking at the pics again, I need to triple-check).
Major difference, as you can see, is the height of the CarQuest unit. And it's beefy-ness.

edit: okay, I am retarted. I apparently got the wrong part from CarQuest, or they just have the wrong part listed in their system. Mounting holes are different on the 2 parts. And cross-referencing the CarQuest part with Napa, brings up a unit similar to the CarQuest.

I would delete this thread if the option was available.

oops!

The trans mount from Ford was about $25 I believe. I was hoping to find a stronger version, but that's all that is available.

at napa here in Colorado $18
rubber glued to metal = sucks

that other one looks like a 4.0L mount??

Actually Jamie, I was thinking it looks like a TH350 or TH400 mount! LOL Seriously...it really does!
