I can't get the overdrive drum to fully seat onto the front planet and I don't know what I'm doing wrong, can someone offer some suggestions? I have checked clearances in the drum and on the sensor wheel, both within range. The star washer is installed letters down.

Take the star washer out and fit it to the drum and see which side is up. I have seen them both ways.

Try installing everything at once.

Assemble everything into the drum first, then slide everything in through the center support, give it a twist and it should drop all the way in.

May have to some grease to keep the bearings and races from falling out.

The star washer can go either side up.

Problem solved, I had the wrong steels in the drum. Lol, I feel like an idiot. Live and learn I guess.

Thanks for the update. Don't feel bad, that's how you learn. I will bet if you do another one that wont happen again. You are tackling some thing most people wouldn't touch. I applaud you! Good luck.
