5r55e shift position 97 ford ranger

I know I saw this in here before but danged if I can find it now. My inside indicator shows second when it is in drive and neutral when in reverse, etc.. I swear I saw someplace that it is adjusted somewhere under the dash. The book says to put a 3 pound weight on the shifter and disconnect the linkage and move it through its range, then check it again. So which is it?

Thanks to Brooklyn, I fixed my shifter adjustment cable in about 30 seconds. 25 seconds were spent finding it!!!
