6 disc cd changer-1996

New here, thanks for looking. I have a 1996 Explorer with a 6 disc cd changer. The problem is that I cannot get the wiring harness connected to the cd player to come out. Is there something holding it in?

theres a tiny plastic piece that you need to push down on the plug to pull the plug out

Cd changer, amp, HU

Ok, I have read the posts, but still need help. How can I tell what is bad on my system The radio works, cd button works, cd changer recognizes cd's (loads and unloads, but says "bad cd"), and the amp must be working, because the DSP button works. I have read that RCU could be bad. Last question is: can this HU be raplaced with an OEM cd player, and if so, which one?
