Hi all, if anyone can help with this it will be much appreciated.
I'm having problems with the turn signals on my '98 Explorer (I am fairly sure its an XT, but might be an XLT - as an aside how could I tell, it was a hand me down and I have no handbooks etc). When trying to use the signals they will either freeze on or not come on at all. After researching this my first guess is the signal relay but when the turn signal switch is on you can hear the relay click (albeit just once). I decided to replace it and Advanced Auto Parts looked up the year and model and sold me an EP27 relay with 5 pins on it, but the relay that is factory fitted has 6 pins, and putting the 5 pin relay on ends with no turn signals at all.
Research online for a compatible part only ever turns up a 5 pin relay, so before I trot off to the dealer to hope they have a part, am I missing something that would get the 5 pin relay to work?
