I haven't measured the stock springs I have on there...but I'm possitive they are not 64 inches long. This maybe a dumb idea brought on by a lack of sleep, and a few beers but, when i found this kit for rangers that gives them a spring under with 64inch springs I got to thinking why not do it for my explorer.

and I know I would have to do something about the shackle mount to make these work properly but I think it might be worth it. the kit seems kinda crazy at $1600 plus shocks but i'm thinking if i can get a set of the leafs and then setup my own shock set up. I should be able to get around 20inches of travel and no axle wrap.
