6r60 to 6r80?

Just came into possession of a Cream 2008 V8 Limited. I was just wondering if anyone had made the jump from a 6r60 to a 6r80. I'm in no hurry to do it and will probably do it when and if the transmission goes on me. I figure at worst case its going to be a 6r80 transmission and a 2009+ PCM in my current configuration.

I had the impression the 6R80 was just a beefed up 6R60. I wonder if the difference is just the torque converter and/or some of the other parts inside. If that's really the case then maybe a "performance rebuild" of the 6R60 would be the only thing needed to get the upgrade.
