Finally made a sound clip:). It's not the best in the world, but it gives you an idea on what a 70 series sounds like on 4.6V8. I should note that I have removed the 3rd cat, exhaust size is 2.5" and exits in the stock location, but moved closer to the bumper(up). If you want me to do some others, let me know and I will. Thanks.

Previous owners of my 01 sport had the single in and dual the 70 series flows it sounded to quiet for me cause i think its cause i have the 4.0 sohc engine.

then i got the 40 series single in and dual out and it sounds much louder and deeper for me.

But urs sounds good with the 70 series i think its cause u got the 4.6 liter and it has a different tone to it. Are you going to get duals at all.

I am looking to get true dual sometime soon.

sounds good, hopefully I'll be able to hear it at a track this spring, might be a little hard though since I'll be ahead of you going down the track:D

LOL, you just made my day man!!! Don't worry, you'll hear it, and we will see who finishes first;)

I like it like it is right now. If I ever change it up, it'll get headers, super 44's with tips exiting where the reciever hitch goes, like an SRT-8. But no plans anytime soon. I originally had put on a 40 series dumped 3" in-2.5 out, and it was f'in loud compared to now. No sound clips of that.

I guess so, you haven't seen my secret weapon yet:burnout:

With the weather as nice as it's been here in Kansas, we should get a friendly run in if you haven't done your "secret weapon" yet? I haven't done anything since you last saw it, but that's about to change:)

if you can find a track open in the area

I am sure we can find somewhere to run. If we lived near jtsmith, there is lots of open road. Either way, it's going to be fun running you, if I lose the first time we meet, I won't lose the second time;)

cough get a tune cough.... Just saying :D

Man that sounds great! I love it...
Is a 70 series supposed to be a bit more quiet?

Does cruising at 55 mph give you a headache or does it get quiet while cruising?

Those launches sounded so nice...

yeah 70 is quieter, 40 is the loudest, then 50, then 70 being quietest

Perfect, thanks for clarifying....Sounds like exactly what I want. As my wife are not fans of the sound of a nice V8 like my 72 Buick. Now my next question is, anyone know what size inlet/outlet would I need for the stock exhaust pipes as I don't think I will replace from the cat back.

It is pretty quiet on the highway. It will be a little bit louder than stock of course, but you won't regret it. I believe stock exhaust is 2 1/4 in and out on the factory muffler.

Mine is the top middle and a shop should have no problem putting one in if you keep your stock exhaust.
