The engine to trans adapter requires a 60 degree 700r4 (from the 2.8l s10 pickup). I was told when I got mine to use 1990 s10 with 2.8 as the vehicle when I look up parts for mine.

I'm drawing a blank of who makes it now as Advanced Adapters no longer makes the kit but there is someone else making them.

I don't know what xfer case normally comes behind that 700r4 but If you want to run something different, like the 1354 you have now, you need an adapter kit.

You will also need the TV kit from Bowtie overdrives (I'm assuming they still make them).. It's the cam/TV cable hookup for the throttle body and a spring for the valve body.. For the trans, don't buy it from bowtie.. use a local company and have them build it for a wheeling rig.. Bowtie seems to only build things for "race" AND they have no way of testing the 60 degree 700r4 so if there is a problem it has to get shipped back..

If you have questions on this.. myself and BKennedy are the active people that I can think of that have the conversion (we have different transfer cases than each other).

The 90* bell housing is too large to fit in the trans tunnel, and no one makes an adaptor for it. I don't know who does, but I agree with Mark (Maniac) about purchasing one from Bowtie Overdrive, DON'T. They put a drag racing shift kit in mine, then denied it when it was discovered as the reason it would not shift correctly no matter what we did.

I am running a NP231 transfer case with a shifter and cable from a 90's S-10. The trans output is a 4 bolt square pattern, transfer case is a standard six bolt round pattern. My adaptors are both from Advanced (Ford 4.0 to 60* 700R4 to NP231). I really like the transmission to transfer case adaptor because you can mount the rear trans mount on the adaptor, which is much stronger than the transmission mount. It also acts as a clocking ring for the transfer case. Before I went SAS, the t-case was sitting nearly flat way up above the frame rails. After the SAS, I had to clock it down one to get a better angle on the front drive shaft as the double cardigan was binding slightly at full driver side drop.
