Hey all. I just installed 5.13 gears into my 8.8. Now the teeth on the ring gear are hitting the cover, I have installed 4.56 gears before and never had this problem. I know the ring gear is much thicker on the 5.13. I have pounded the stock cover out enough to not touch but I know it is close. I need to know if the aftermarket diff covers(Blue Torch Fab, Riddler, Solid, etc) will have enough clearance. Has anyone else had experience with this problem. If so what did you do. Thanks in advance

Thank you for your replies guys. I will go out and measure today. The rockcrusher one is very nice (I like the color scheme) but I think I might run into the same problem. In this first pic it shows where it was rubbing and which way I made it bigger(laterally). I actually need more width than depth but if it is deeper at that spot it will accomplish the same thing.

In the second and third pic you can see how wide the BTF hump is in comparison to the rockcrusher. I am going by the line up of the edge to the top and bottom mounting holes. The BTF is a little to the right of the holes and the Rockcrusher is to the left similar to stock.
