87 body on 1997 frame? need info

are 1987 ranger with 2.9L extendacab frame the same as 1997 ranger 4.0extendacab frame. would like to bolt 87 body to 1997 frame. and use 1997 dash in my 1987, seats, mouldings etc... any body ever done it. if not 1997 can you tell me the year and type would fit. (1987 ranger xlt ext cab) 2.9L auto/

ok i can tell u what i am seing i have do a 87 ranger 4.0 conversion used dash and ect from a 91 explorer

i know the 93's i am disassembling for my project have the same dash as the 91 explorer
i have a 96 parts explorer that dash is different also u have to remeber the newer dashes have air bags
u can see the dash in the 93 here wanna buy one i have an extra lol
