what size wrench does ti take to get the coil spring off??
I have tried standard sizes with no luck.
Is it a metric size?
and what sixe thread is the bolt the haynes manual does not tell me ****.

Help would be appreciated.
I have to put a new transmission in and am doing a 2" lift at the same time. Have the shocks off and cannot get the coils off to clean paint and add the spacer.

May as well make it look good I have more time than money.
Putting Rancho shocks on Aluminum spacers Home made machined with 60 durameter pads amd stainless steel shackles with grade 8 bolts in the rear.
running 31 x 10.5 Kumho venture MT tires

Thanks in advance

should be 1 1/8" unless your nuts are stripped.

The nuts are not the same size as the bolt head.
They are noot stripped but 1 1/8 has too much play if I crank on it it will strip.

It is exactly 28mm 6pt deep. This size fits without any slop, 1 1/8th is close but is a little sloppy. Unfortunately this size is rare and you may have a hard time finding one. I ordered an impact version from S&K. This size is used on the radius arm upper and lower bolts, as well as the radius arm nut.

Note: You should get a std propane torch and heat these nuts to 500 deg F (2-3 min / bolt). The purpose is to remove the permanent (RED) loctite that was used to install them. If you don't you will need to use tremendouse force to remove the nut and possibly ruin it in the process...

What is the thread size ot the bolt/stud, in case I need a die to chase the thread??

I can get the 28mm not in impact but box end and deep and shallow 12 point only 6 point in shallow.

I'm unsure of the appropriate die to use. I thought the same thing about chasing the threads because the bolt/stud looked very rusted. I was pleasantly surprised the NUT actually cleaned up the threads nicely during it's removal.

I bought the impact so it wouldn't fail me when I am on the trail. Even after heating the nuts I had to use a 3' cheater pipe over my 1/2" drive rachet...
