I have a 92 XLT that has over 175,000 miles on it and I just had the engine rebuilt about 2 months ago. I was driving home in the heat and city traffic yesterday, and it started skipping and jerking when I pressed the accelerator above 20 mph. It did not want to switch gears and the RPM's would go almost to between 4 and 5 before it would. The stop and go traffic was brutal....and I felt like I barely made it home. I have a friend that suggested I buy a transmedic to add to the fluid that will help the skipping, so I did, but when I checked the fluid last night...it was actually above the line. Should I add the transmedic or not? I don't want to overfill it. I am also worried that it might be plugged and not getting any fluid to the transmission.
I need some advice.....PLEASE HELP!
