93 4 door Explorer build log

Bought the truck from my uncle for a little over $300. Bought it as an SPL project vehicle. Upon picking up the vehicle there was ALOT of small things as well as big things that needed done.

New window motors, replace drivers back vent glass, strip interior and replace the majority of it, deaden everything, clean carpet, new seats, new headliner, ball joints, tires, etc.

heres pics of getting it ready for the audio part of this build:

Carpet was TRASHED. after HOURS of scrubbing i got it cleaned enough to dye it. also ripped all the old jute padding off, that crap is horrible and is nothing but a place to hold moisture and odor.

100% coverage on the floor of AudioTechnix deadener and a layer of 1/8" closed cell foam (yoga mat).

junk yard seats cleaned up nicely, before on left after on right.

had to reinforce and patch up the busted original headliner board.

Dyed carpet:

new headliner wrapped.

Now the audio portion:

Equipment list:
4 Sundown SA12s
2 Sundown 1500dv1's strapped at 1ohm
Mechman 260a alt
XS D6500 under hood, XS XP3000 in back
4 sets of Incriminator Audio 6.5 components
Sundown 100.4 on mids/highs
Pioneer HU, idk remember model of it.
2 runs of Sky High 1/0 front to back for positive, 2 straight to frame in back.

I still need to get one more Sundown 1500v1, I thought the 2 i had were both V1s but one ended up being a V2 (currently trying to sell it for $300 plus shipping, bot not much interest). need to pull the box back out and repaint it and pretty it up some. Also not happy with the top portions of my doors where the tweeters are, gonna redo that in suede and probably build it out a little to flush the tweets.

Still managing a 143.3 sealed on the dash on just one amp at 1ohm. Goal is 150+ staying below window line. Hopefully a new box tunes a little higher and the 2nd 1500 will get me there.

Got my 2nd amp in and wired up. Have 2 1500v1s strapped at 1ohm now on the 4 SA12s. sealed on dash @ 44hz im doing a 147.8 with no tuning. hopefully can squeeze a 150 on burp and 145 on music with this setup.

Pulled em out of a local junkyard from a little newer explorer for $50 for front and back lol.

Yeah, I'm thinking about getting some power leather seats from the scrap yard.

And, since you're good with wiring/fiberglass fabrication, you should swap in a long console.

If anything happens console wise ill build one from scratch.

Managed to break the windshield seal. Probably a combination of age and bass. lol. oh well.

Looking at new wheels, and a small (2" or so) lift after Christmas.

havent checked this thread in a while. Nothing new yet. Been SUPER busy with my internship, school, and work since the first of the year. I do have the following sitting waiting to for time to install: 2" lift, air shocks for the rear, new shocks for the front, new wheels (soft 8 knock offs), brush guard, ball joints, front and rear brakes.

Audio wise nothing new planned. I did pick up a pair of Sundown Nightshade V1 15s. Also got a 3rd sundown 1500 amp, looking for a 4th now.
