my 93 ranger 4.0L 4x4 ac compressor keeps engaging even when i have the ac off in the cab. i temporaily disconnected it but it get hot in july! any thoughts? thanks

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the A/C & heater section. This is normal, so plug your compressor back in.

Maybe your a/c controls in the cab are bad. When the a/c is in defrost mode, the compressor will usually run. Could be an issue with controls thinking your are in defrost. I am not sure how it makes the decision of when you are in defrost. If I get a chance, I will look into it. At least that may be a place to start.
