Which engine does it have? 4 cyl, 3.0 or 4.0 V-6?

3.0 V6

how hard was it to add your aftermarket tach?

I also have a 94 ranger with a 3.0 and mine does the same thing i would also like to know why it feels sluggish in the low rpms ;)

not very hard at all i bought a cheapy for now it was like thirty somthing idk theres a green wire that goes to your neg off your coil witch on a ranger similar to mine its located top of engine in the middle sorta. then theres the red & black wires just run black to a ground and red to a constint power source ( battery) white i ran to a switch for the light. it dont have a shift. my tach is a Sunpro but its a basic tach that everyone so far say that it is nice and smooth i have pics on cardomain.com ill get the link and post it
