What about the lift/tires was illegal? I've heard of people with lowered trucks being hassled for modified suspension, but never a lifted truck... ???

Lift laws

Each state has a set of laws that pertain to lifted vihicles. In Illinois, my explorer can't be higher than 27" in the front and 29" in the rear. Also, the tires can't stick out of the wheel wells too far, and the 35x14.50 ssr's on 15x10 rims stuck out about 8 inches. Like I said, It looked realy good that way but it was too high and it rubbed the fender wells when I turned.

A pic of my explorer is on (dead link) webpage under member section toward the bottom.

here is cheesy website i set up with pictures on it. I haven't had any time to do a real one yet. I know it's kinda long but that's all I got.
