Hey guys- I just bought a '94 xlt to use as a beach buggy. I have had several old broncos but all were manual hubs. When I went to change a flat front tire, the auto hub came off with it. Is this normal or should there be something holding it on? Also does any one know the split between front and rear when in 4wheel? Thanks a lot- Cal

I used to have the manual hub come off sometimes on my old Bronco II. There are supposed to be star washers on a couple of lugs to keep the hub from coming off with the tire. My truck did not always have them either, they're not essential, but they do keep the auto hub from falling in the dirt. You have a 50/50 torque split in 4wd.

Thanks mwking. I was afraid something might not be right. Cal

mwKing is 100% correct...torque is 50/50 and the hubs (manual or auto) will come right off and are only held in place by the factor star washers or the wheel lug nuts.
