So i just bought a 94 Explorer a month ago, 134k miles on it. Previous owner said the tranny was rebuilt last year (i remember him talking about it when he got it done).
Sense i got her, ive had the front rotor's and pads replaced, front bearings repacked, and the rear axle seals replaced.

Three days ago i took her out for my first highway drive with her. Nice and smooth untill i got up to around 65mph, started feeling the car shake a little bit, more prominent at 70mph. My RPM's where steady at 2000-2500 while keeping speed

Now heres my potential problem: Ive noticed the past few days that when i FIRST Get her moving she takes a LONG time to shift from first to second, Wont shift to second untill around 3200-3500 rpm. After that first long shift, it shifts normally the rest of the drive.

Please help....

search for threads that deal with the governor in the transmission section. sounds like your issue.
