94 Explorer XLT: Light Install

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT and I just purchased brand new crystal vision 9004 headlight bulbs. After installing them I noticed that the low beam signal and high beam signal were reversed.

The blue highbeam signal is on all the time no matter what position the high beam lever is in.

When I flick the lever to high beam mode, I get my low beams.

When I flick the level back to low beam mode, I get my high beams.

I cannot use the flash to pass either.


Does anyone know the solution to this problem and also how to adjust the level of the beam because the lows are extremly low and the high beams are low as well. I need to raise the level of the beam.


I know I am new here and I read the FAQ without finding my solution, thanks.

Welcome to the forum, you got me on that question, since there is no way to reverse the plug, and the light bulb is keyed to only go in one way. Are you sure they were the correct part number for your truck?

If your lights worked fine before the new bulbs, problem has to be the bulbs.
I dont know what ever else it could be.....
