95 explorer tranny trouble

I have a 95 xlt that quit down shifting. When I start off in drive, that is what gear it is in. I can manually put it in second and it will change, but it will not shift into first. I changed the fluid and filter, but this hasn't helped. Has anyone had a problem like this before?

Have you tried searching the site for similar issues? There are any number of problems with these trannys that can cause shifting problems. Could be as simple as a stuck shift solenoid, or as bad as a broken band.
