95 limited edition 4x4 wont engage

Hey im new so if im posting somewhere wrong please dont flip out on me, just let me know and i'll move it. But I have a 95 explorer limited edition, the 4x4 light cuts on and off on it's own, the 4x4 wont engage when I turn the knob, sometimes it will engage on it's own and disegnage on it's own. It makes no horrible grinding noises, it's quiet but im at a loss with this, other problems as well like sun roof wont work and neither will any of the winshield wipers front and back, I have checked all fuses and they are fine, this truck is a piece of junk, im at my wits end with it, any advice, I also have the air ride and they are too expensive to replace and the back ones are shot, any cheap replacement advice for that as well, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked all the relays? Do you own a manual? In the manual it will show you locations to all relays. Some things share relays, you might have a bad one, maybe two.

Is your ABS light on when you have problems with 4x4? 4x4 wont work if ABS is not working. Usually a sensor, easy to replace. Could be the 4x4 computer, it might be bad. Could be a broken vac line to your front diff. Many things could be wrong, but most are easy fixes.

I have no knowledge of the air ride, sorry.

No I don't have a manual and I have the 4.0 EFI V6, im not sure if it is the sohc or the ohv, I appreciate the help and yes the abs light is on all the time I just checked again and it never goes off or blinks or anything once the truck is running or even when the ignition is turned on. Does that help narrow anything down? im also having a problem with my windshield wipers not working, front and back, it's just crazy how many things are wrong with this truck, im honestly thinking of junking it or tryen to sell it for as much as I can get for it. The motor and the trans run great and I just put a new radiator in it as well as a new fuel pump. I could list the things wrong with this truck and it would make your head spin. interior lights don't work, heat and air have to be manual turned on and off under the hood, odometer is broken, rear air ride shocks are gone, they just bottom out all the time, my windows quit working but I got that fixed but now the automatic window roll down on the driverside doesn'twork, the moon roof wont open, and the thermostat read out above my head is fried, it works like maybe a quarter of the time and for only a few seconds, but i'll settle with just fixing the 4x4 and the winsheild wipers for right now. Oh and my digital thermostat acts up all the time, it will just start randomly clicking and when it starts that it could do it for hours or it could stop in a few minutes, sometimes when I cut the headlights on and off it will slow it down or sometimes stop it, haha this truck is MESSED up.

Whats the mileage on this EX? How is the body? Is the interior still in decent shape?

Things to think about. If the mileage is under 200 K, the body in good shape, and a decent interior, you should keep it and fix it.

Every thing you mentioned except maybe the air ride, can be fixed by you in your driveway, for little to nothing.

This forum and you can revive your EX !! Seriously, once you start using the search feature, and reading the threads, you will laugh at how easy most of your problems are to fix. I had purchased an Ex with similar problems as yours, and got it back to healthy status in a week of spare time repairs. Being a limited, your truck is at the top of the food chain, and worth more than other models. If you do decide to sell it, you can get a fair price, AFTER you do some repairs. A few hours, and a couple hundred bucks, could double your asking price.
