well my explorer lost power steering so i replaced the pump it worked perfect for about a hour of running it then it got hard to turn again. I took it to the carwash to clean everything after the new pump was installed to check for leaks. I sprayed everything down got back in and it worked again the next 2 days everything worked well. Now Today the hard steering came back I never flushed the sytem out just added fresh fluid to the resivoir. Did I get a bad pump? is it too late to flush the system? Maybe the rack?( I was told they rarely go) Is it better to use ATF than power steering fluid? Has this happened to anyone else? if so what did you do? any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance
