95 valve cover gasket replacement

both of my valve cover gaskets have started leaking and i am going to replace them soon. i was just wondering if there was a how to thread on this subject. i searched and searched but to no avail. Also does anyone have an oil type and weight recommendation for winter time? thanks in advance for any help

When I did mine as part of replacing the lower intake gaskets I didn't remove the A/C compressor, I don't see the need. Great time to change the plugs if you haven't.

I would change the thermostat while in there and retorque the lower intake manifold. They are well known to loosen off causing coolant and oil consumption.

I use synthetic oil in the winter.
