95 xlt turns over (and shakes) but will not start

my wife's 95 xlt v6 turns over very fast but will not catch. while it's turning over it makes the whole vehicle shake. there's 170,000 miles on it and it has never given us a seconds trouble. any help you guys can give me will be much appreciated. if you have any helpful information please post it here or email me if possible....thanks,

check for spark and gas if you are getting both of those then move onto compression if it's moving very fast suggests a timing chain OHV or OHC motor?

It's an OHV...all 95's are OHV
I don't think the SOHC was available until 96 or 97
All 95's & earlier are OHV
