Battery is recent (3 weeks old, 1000cca one for powerstroke engines) and before the problem, it used to be at 14.4-14.6 while engine was running(idle). Recently the battery gauge in the dash started to stay at about 25% of the gauge so I measured the voltage at the battery while the engine was running and it's at about 12.2v steady. No problem, it's the alternator that's shot.
Going through my ford service manual, it says:
Does this mean there are no rebuild kits available for my alternator ? How do they refurbish them ? I don't want to pay for a refurbished one since I have always rebuilt my own alternators...
Thanks for your inputs.
P.S. After almost 4 years of owning, it's the first time I have a problem with the truck
Going through my ford service manual, it says:
The generator pulley is serviceable. If the generator (GEN) (10300) needs further service, it must be replaced as an assembly.
The voltage regulator is not serviceable
