I'm trying to replace the camshaft synchronizer on a 96 5.0 V8 AWD. I thought it was the camshaft sensor but when I took the sensor off not only was the sensor shredded but the synchronizer halfmoon piece was also completely torn off so I'm not able to tell what position the synchronizer is in. I have a new synchronizer and installation tool and I'm already aware of the need to be at TDC but want to know if anybody has any photos of what the synchronizer looks like installed correctly, on a 96 5.0 and with the tool off and/or on. And any other helpful tips will be appreciated.
