I own a 1996 E.B. V8 explorer and I am looking for some advice on the problem... The a/c is fully charged and holds fine, but It does not blow COLD
at it's expectations, I have to set it MAX a/c @ 60 deg same on automatic to get any a/c and even then it does not blow cold as it should. Also the check engine light comes back on after I reboot the CPU... after about 10 min. and The vents don't quite blow as hard as I think they should.
Any possible answers would help Thank you...
David

Well, first get the codes scanned free of charge at autozone, and write the code down. Don't buy parts yet.

For the temperature issue, you might want to research "blend door"

this is the little flapper that switches the blown air from going across the heater core-to going across the AC evaporator.

You might also check that the "coolant bypass valve" is operating correctly. It shuts off coolant flow to the heater core, when ac is selected.
