96 engine swap into a 95

hey i just swapped a 96 4.0 into my 95 and im having issues with it missfiring acting like the timing is off but i thought they were comp controlled any help will be glad im going nuts tryin to figure it out

i swapped a 95 motor into a 96 and had a real bad idle problem turned out some of the wiring harnesses didnt match up the 96 pig tail on the iac valve had fried the ecu a new pigtail and ecu later runs like a champ.so it could be eletrical first of all check plug wires had one melted on the engine and was causing miss fire.:exporange
