Hey you need part # PA-853 It's for the ranger but it works perfectly fine, they did not make body lifts for second generation explorer's...here is the link...http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi-bin/suscon/853.html
With just the body lift you can fit 32x11.5's without trimming and 33x12.5 with minor trimming. You may as well spend 69.95 on the warrior lift shackles while your at it and crank on the torsion bars up front to level it out then you can fit 33x12.5's with no problem. you have to have a back spaced wheel though like a 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing or else you will rub on the front sway bar. Here is the link to the warrior shackles part # WAR-153...http://www.desertrat.com/products/?id=5637
What I just described to you is the exact same setup I have on mine and I couldnt be happier with it. If you do a search in the threads you will find a TON of info on the BL, shackles, and TT. If not feel free to PM me.

Yes. PA-853

Check the forsale section.

I have a PA-853 3" body lift forsale there that will fit your truck.

Thanks for the information guys! Now what i have heard from somebody locally is that if you lift an awd explorer that you will start having problems because the computer looks at the suspension for clearance and what not, and due to increasing the height and clearance it will throw everything off. Is there any truth in this?

Just trying to cover all my bases before going ahead and lifting it. As always,Thanks in advance for any help:thumbsup:

Yes, the computer monitors how far the vehicle is from the ground to determine proper parachute deployment and/or ejector seat functions.

Just kidding, I have no idea what you mean by "throw everything off." Sounds like a bunch of crap, the only thing I can think of would be putting on larger tires and throwing the speedometer off.

the speedometer is the only thing that will be off, as he put it,, with bigger tires it will change the revolutions per mile, making the speedometer a bit slower than the actual speed you are travelling,,

haha of course...i do not want to get launched to un-neccessary heights when my ejection seats go off...guess i shouldnt lift it...

and corkey...is your explorer awd? and no problems yet?

my 96 isn't awd, and i have 339.000 kilometers so far , and nothing has been replaced , except for the shocks , and a few u joints,,
i went up to the next tire size, which for my Ex is from a 225 75 15 to 235 75 15 , and it made my speedometer off by about 3-4 mph(5-8 kph)

is it possible to run 10x15 inch rims on 96 for explorer with 33inch tires

With adding the Warrior Shackles and the 3 inch body lift how much will it effect the handling after playing with the torsion bars?
I have a 1996 4 door XLT in 4X4 that is a rolling project and I don't wanna over do it?
Any thoughts on mounting a RLC front and rear bumper after lifting?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I was wondering if I could just make a 3 inch body lift with some pipe?for my 1996 Ford explorer sport control trac 4wd

Just order 10 (I think it's 10?) of these. At $3.75 each, it's money well spent for KNOWING it will be fine. You'll still need to get some new bolts (some can be re-used in different locations) plus either switch to an electric fan (what I plan on doing) or figure out a way to drop the radiator and fan shroud, at the least, drop the fan shroud. Then you'll need to make brackets to raise the bumpers.
