Hi folks,
Newbie here looking for some help on my explorer
96 explorer 4x4 xlt 4.0L
185,000 miles.
4R55E tranny
My explorer has been a good vehicle with few problems over the years.Recently I noticed a vibration coming from right rear wheel going up a hill.I rotated my tires and decided it was time to change U joints,no change in vibration.Next I R&R'd rear wheel bearings and found originals had some wear on them, but not excessive.Vibration still there but less noticable.Next after driving for about 10 miles OD light flashing and went into limp mode.I have a scanner but it would not pick up the fault code.I went and got the code pulled and it came up with P0741,which appears to be the tcc solenoid.
With my scanner atached and driving I can see solenoids a,b and c shifting and I see coast clutch solenoid is always "off",unless I push the OD button and the the coast clutch solenoid comes on.
I plan to check and clean external electrical connections today and if no help drop the pan for inspection.
Question>I see the ccs cycle when I turn od off, so that tells me the solenoid is actuatuing through using the od button,Is there another source of voltage that cycles it when normal driving and od is on?I thought this might be a starting point, If I don't see anything obvious after dropping the pan.Any ideas or electrical diagram would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
