96 Explorer Leaf Spring Question

We got a bigger horse trailer and our explorer is a bit bogged down. our mechanic friend suggested flipping the bottom leaf spring around to give us a bit more lift. does anyone know if this works and would you know which order to arrange the springs? thanks

How big of a horse trailer are you pulling with an Explorer? I am guessing that even a small trailer with one horse is over the rated towing capacity?

New leaf springs aren't that much money.... or find a spring place and get them re-arched... cost like $40 a side.
