96 ford ranger 3.0 4r44e transmission

I got a 96 ford ranger with a 3.0 and it has a 4r44e transmission it needs rebuilt but my question is will a transmission from a 98 ford ranger 3.0 work in my 96 ford ranger?

It should work if it's a 4R44E.

Ok i got another question the 98 4r44e transmission don't have a vehicle speed sensor.So my question is could i take the rear of the transmission of my 96 tranny and put it on the 98 model?

i got the transmission in but now it seems like when it gets hot it slips and takes a few second to kick into gear.I put it on the computer and it didn't pull no codes.Would anybody happen to know what is causeing the sliping or why it is taking so long to kick into gear?
