96 Sunroof Moonroof Manual Close? Stuck open!!!

Hi Guys

Can someone please help me out, I have a 1996 Explorer Eddie Bauer, and my sunroof / moonroof is stuck open. I cannot close it, and want to know if there is a manual close on the roof? I cannot see anything obvious, and the manual is of no help!!!

Yes, there is a manual slot, I remember seeing it, but I cannot remember for sure. Have you searched here?

If memory serves you pop off the trim cover that is around the button, and there is a hex head that you turn.

EDIT: Ok, I was curious, so I went and tore into mine

Disclaimer: this is on my 2000, I do not know if yours is the same.

Start by pulling off the overhead console by grasping by the windshield (you can get your fingers underneath it at that point) and pull down. You'll see:

The manual driver is circled in yellow.

Put a slotted screwdriver into the slot pushing the yellow pin in, and turn.

It'll take quite a few turns, but it will work.
