97 eb auto climate system no temp control

I have a 97 explorer with auto climate control and can only get heat and no a/c. I hear a clicking sound behind the glove box. I can set the temp to 60 and max ac and still get full heat. If I unplug the connector behind the glove box on top of the heater box the clicking stops but I still only get full heat. Any ideas how to repair would be appreciated.

sounds like the blend door to me, i have no experience with these 2nd gen models only the 3rd gen, but i will probably have to eventually since i just purchased a 2nd gen lol search the forum about the blend door and see if it matches your systems
