Blue smoke???isn't that usually oil?
I could be wrong!

Pretty sure blue smoke is oil burning.

97 ford explorer blue smoke??

ran fine went to gas station put gas in it started it up and it wasnt running right and then notice blue smoke out tailpipe this happen all sudden talking about out the blue :( do u think its something major or could a sensor went bad havent had it check out yet thank u nice site btw. its blue grayish smoke

This might seem like a really stupid question, but are you sure you didn't put diesel fuel in it?

no diesel fuel i went back to the gas station to be sure
but iam puzzled at why all of sudden i wasnt even driving it
i have had alot of people tell me alot of things
like coil packs map sensor o2 sensor could have sudden went out
it ran very good awesome before this happen
o btw the check engine light was coming on a couple months before (still ran good with it on) but i reseted a couple days before this happen but its not on know

Any check engine light? Did the truck throw any codes?

Check the PCV system. The valve may have broke apart.

pvc looks great
and i never ran the codes when the check engine light was on sorry.
its running now and runs great no check engine light just that smoke
iam puzzled

Liquid out the tailpipe and smoke usually = blown head gasket...however, the smoke is usually white (steam).

Sounds like a head gasket. Do acompression test and compare cylinder pressures

Its more than like you blew a head gasket and oil is leaking in your combustion chamber. In expensive fix if you know what you're doing.

sure you put gas in. not diesel or e85?

also blue smoke is oil burning, white smoke is coolant most of the time, check the oil on the dipstick is it milky?
