i have a 1997 explorer 4x and i'm attempting to replace the rear pads. i watched the vid in the sticky on the tires and wheels page but that was a 96 and mine looks totally different. i removed the 2 bolts on the back of the caliper but it wont come off. i haven't gotten rough with it because i dont want to screw something up. can someone advise me from here plz?

thanks

I dont know if my vid is the one you are referring to but check it out. Link is in the signature.

Those 2 bolts are the only bolts holding on the caliper. The reason the caliper wont come off is because it is "grooved" into the rotor. Basically get a hammer and tap it off, be careful not to hit the brake line.

I was thinking the same thing, especially if the rotors have deep grooves. I think I had one like that one time.
