97 Explorer please help!

Hi I have a 1997 explorer thats AWD and has the 5.0L v-8 its the xlt package and I believe it has the tow package due to the oil/tranny cooler. There are a few things I've been pondering and I was wondering if anyone could help.
1. What is my rear end gearing?
2. How the hell do you get the fuel filter off without being the hulk?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. The answers you seek can be found via the search function. The gearing code should be listed on a sticker along the side of your driver's door. There is a chart on here somewhere with the codes listed.
