97 Explorer Sport rear seat removal

Has anyone removed the rear seat? Was it made to be removed?

I haven't looked at it yet, but it's coming out, one way or another.

It's bolted to the floor, nuts might be 15mm size. There might be pictures in some of the topics about cutting out a fuel pump access panel.
 






J_C is spot on.
They're a simple bolt in arrangement - maybe a 20 minute job.
I've taken them out a couple of times to steam clean the carpet.
If you can change your oil, you can do this.

Had a few minutes tonight so I ran out to the truck and took a look in the dark with a flashlight. For the most part, I see the bolts, but it was unclear if the seats can be removed independent of each other, or are they a joined pair?
 






They are separate seats. As stated, they are very easy to remove.
Four bolts for each seat mount.
