- '97 XLT
Had the speedometer and odometer die in a 97 XLT. Got ahold of a 97 XL cluster that looked identical and was within 1000 miles of the old odometer.
Swapped them out and everything works EXCEPT the check engine light.
We can live with that, but the State of Alaska can't.. They won't pass the IM inspection unless the check engine light works.
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the harnesses going to the cluster so I can check the signal voltages to diagnose if it's the cluster or the harness that's the problem? And is there a difference between the XL and XLT cluster? The lights were in different places, but they seemed to be the same and all worked but the check engine...
Yes, I did replace all the bulbs
