97 Hood Struts Urban Myth

Bought a pair of Sachs hood struts today. Bottom fits great, top---too small for the locating knob. Both ends thread off but a swap wasn't to be--threads are different diameters.
So, despite the Pep Boys counter staff telling me that it would be operationally impossible, I installed them upside down.
Perfect.

hhaahhaa i did the same damn thing....i was wondering wtf is going on flipped them over and it was perfect.

on my 96 i had the same problem instead i just drilled holes and used a small set-screw to hold them on

Same issue here on my 96. They work fine upside down. Been that way for 6 months, no problems.
