Well, after a LONG hard road of hard work, my truck is finally getting a paint job.

Long story short, I bought the truck for 1000 bucks with a blown motor/tranny. (it got submerged in a lake and the motor stayed running).

I ripped everything out and started over.

Installed everything in my sig and more.

Now it's time for paint.

Told the body shop manager I wanted it all black now with my new black housing lights that came in today:

Along with smoking out my rear lights including the 3rd brake light.

They're going to fix all the body damage and remove the roof rack and fill in the holes as well.

Also going to paint the door jams.

There's some body damage all around that they're going to take care of including a pretty bad smashed up driver's door.

For now, I'm deleting the side steps until I can find a new passenger one for them to paint.

They're also painting the mirrors as well.

Here's a before shot:

I'm very excited. Should be next Friday that I can pick it up. It needs a LOT of work and I told them to take their time.

3 base coats and 3 clearcoats.

Tax refunds FTW!

LOL, thanks dude.

Thanks man, they fit great and I love them.

yeah i like the saleens too

Update:

Spoke with the bodyshop manager today...all the bodywork/prep work is already done and the roof rack has been shaved. All dents/body damage and rust is gone. :)

I'm dropping by on saturday to give them a new fuel door to install before paint and a new passenger side running board because the ones on there are ruined.

I also am having them paint the mirrors as well for a nice clean look.

I'm very excite to see it. When I stop by to see the progress, I'll snap a bunch of "during" pictures :)

Here's a few pictures of her as she sits right now:

I gave the bodyshop a buttload more work to do than they planned on, like shaving the entire tailgate, etc.
The holes where the mountaineer logo/badging and all that went is now shaved/filled in, along with the rear wiper since that never worked since I bought the truck.

Apologize for the crappy pictures, but the lighting was extremely weird in the room it was sitting in.

Went to the junkyard today and bought a "new" passenger side running board and fuel door to replace the stock smashed ones.

I should be able to pick it up and take it home on Friday they say.

They did such an amazing job blacking out my tail lights, I wish I could've taken a picture of them. I'm really excited.

WOW its going to look sweet

UPDATE:

I went up there today to check things out and he showed me the hood and the roof finished, along with the door jams. WOW!

All I could snap a picture with my cell phone was these pictures:
