hello all, i am hoping i can get a few answers to a few questions i have on this. i am wanting to put a 5r55e transmission in to my 1995 eddie bauer 4.0 ohv i have the opportunity to get a transmission from any year explorer i choose for free. so question number one, is a 97 5r55e transmission swap in to my 95 4r55e possible? if i get the 97 ecu could i theoretically make that work with my stock harness with possibly minimal modification? or would a whole harness swap be the best idea. i have read there were 97s with the ohv still. this would in theory open up opportunity for a jet chip power shift controller, and jet chip for a 97, full obdII diagnostics and should slip past smog with no problems. everything at this point would be a 97 with a from what i understand mechanically identical 4.0 ohv from a 95.
