Hey y'all I'm in the middle of a transmission swap on my 97 Ford explorer xlt control Trac 4x4 got the transmission out after buying a transmission just figured out that the one I bought doesn't have the overdrive drum sensor will that matter? Please get back to me asap

If your vehicle has a plug for the sensor you need to find a transmission that has the sensor or you might end up with a check engine light and the transmission might not work like it should.

Thank you I looked up about 30 forums and a Ford mechanic was on one talking about how you splice the wires together good and the check engine light doesn't come on and transmission runs and shifts fine they just stopped using that sensor in mid 98 the pcm doesn't really use it
