I just bought a '97 5 speed sport that has a bad clutch master cylinder. I bought the replacement and have the old one almost out. For the life of me. I can't figure out how to get the pin out of the old master cylinder-slave cylinder fluid line so I can complete the swap. Can anyone clue me in as to the trick to removing it? Thanks.

If you mean where the line attaches to the master, it's a small pin that slides in and locks the line. I used a brad nail as a punch and tapped it out.
I couldn't even see the pin until I removed the master from the firewall.

Yea, that's the pin I'm talking about. I never thought of a nail. Big Thanks!

Just make sure you bleed the cylinder before you mount it back in the firewall. Otherwise you will never get all the air out of the line. The angle that the MC mounts at prevents it from bleeding properly.

Woops. I read all the threads in the forum search I could find but didn't see that little gem. I'm going to use the long a** hose method to bleed it so maybe it will be OK.

Edit: The bleed didn't work so tomorrow I'll remove the master cylinder and maybe use a different set of swear words than what I used today.

Dude I feel for you I've been there  once you have it loose from the firewall all you have to do it rotate the clutch slightly and all the air just comes right out. I pumped 2 quarts through mine before I realized it isn't going to prime :D

oh and it's all becuase of one little air bubble
