Hi I am new to explores and this forum but I am a mechanic and decent welder and I would love to off-road my explorer. Its a 97 xlt 4.0 ohv. I want to do a sas but I really don't know a lot of what I'm doing.I have a guy who would give me the entire front end of a 95 f150 that's got a dana 44 for $75.What other things do I need and how difficult is this to do.

thx yeah I m new to the 4x4 stuff(more of a car guy) plus I think Im leaning more towards TT in front with warrior shackles and add a leaf in rear and a cold air intake(the explore is my DD and SAS takes to long).Any other things that are somewhat easy and cheap to do?

good luck man i have done the TT and Shackles on my 97 and I love it, just need some bigger tires but perfect lift for a DD! i have the SOHC but I plow snow with the front bumper, just could not get it stuck at all this past winter! always found myself pulling others out. these are brutes
