My 98 explorer cranks but won't start. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I have tried a few things like changing the crank sensor. My question is if I am getting fuel to the schrader valve, does that mean fuel is getting to the plugs as well? I have spark and thought I had fuel as well but maybe not. That's why I changed the crank sensor but it still won't start. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'll have to find out what a PATS key is. No check engine light and fuses are all good as are the relays as far as I can tell. Not sure about all ground connections but those I gave checked seem to be OK. The way this all began was I started the vehicle, it started right up, ran for about 2 seconds and died. No start ever since.

98 should have PATS. Does the theft light blink rapidly?

Was it parked running fine, and now isn’t?

If you have pressure at the schrader valve it should be getting to the injectors.

SOHC?
