Any help would be greatly appreciated

The car had a Pursuit Keyless Entry Alarm upgrade module with shock sensor.
The book came with the car.

It uses the original factory Ford Keyfob. I bought the car used and have not had a problem until now.

I come out of work and hit unlock on the factory keyfob, The alarm goes off. It will not respond to the remote. The doors did unlock tho. I get in try to disable the alarm there is a button under the dash I press in the default code with the key in the right position and it will not shut off(per the aftermarket alarm manual, The code may have been changed by the original owner and I do not know it). I disconnect the siren and the battery.Connect the battery again and I notice the locks are cycling non stop. The car wont start because the alarm has killed the ignition and basically the alarm is still going but i disconnected the siren.

I wind up pulling the main connector of the alarm brain under the dash and I am able to start the car but the locks keep cycling.

Now I got the car home.
Now I have taken apart the alarm under the dash. I pull the fuses, the relays all for the aftermarket alarm upgrade and the locks are still cycling. The Theft light on the dash is staying lit.

I am able to start the car and drive now that i disconnected the aftermarket alarm but I think the main problem is with the car not the aftermarket alarm.

The locks wont stop cycling even with the keys out of the ignition. The only thing that stops it is the fuse.

Please help me fix it?????????????????????

Don't know too much about this aftermarket alarm but chances are your PATS system is either having some issues and/or your aftermarket alarm is also. Usually placing the key in the ignition and turning the key would normally stop n factory alarm but since its aftermarket, that might be your issue.

Thanks for the reply,

I have the aftermarket alarm pretty much disconnected and the locks are still cycling and the theft light stays lit.

I figured out a little bit more.....When the fuse for the locks is removed the Theft light blinks like it normally should. Its when I put the fuse in the locks cycle and the theft light stays on and get a lil brighter with the cycle.

I have totally removed the aftermarket alarm upgrade, And returned all the wiring like it was from the factory. The locks are still cycling and the keyfob does not work.

When you say "cycling" do you mean, lock / unlock or repetitive trying to lock or repetitive trying to unlock? If you go into the driver door panel and unplug the master lock / unlock switch, does this having any affect?

Another thought is that it looks perhaps like the RAP module is "crazy". Perhaps try unplugging it and see if the cycling stops.

By cycling I mean its keeps repetively unlocking all the locks including the hatch and the factory remote does not respond.

Do You mean take apart the drivers door and unplug the lock unlock switch?

Where is the RAP located? Is it in the cargo area by the jack? If so I know theres 2 modules in there which one is the RAP?

Thanks

on my 96 wiring, the rap module controls an "unlock relay", so it is quite possible that module is screwed up. As you indicate, it is in the rear cargo compartment with access thru the jacket storage area. One module is the remote key stuff ... should be white? and have your factory code on it. The other, I think is the RAP, in and around the same area.... my ex doesn't have factory keyless so I am going by postings on this forum.

As far as the switch is concerned, yes. If you take off the door panel, you can get access to the switches in the arm... remove the connector on the back of the lock/unlock switch (I think it is possible) to see if this stops things. Alternatively, the actual relays that are operating are also in the rear cargo area (same place) in aux relay box #4. What you can do is listen to which relay is "pulsing" causing the unlock cycling. Pull it and check it to see if its bad. It is likely the relay that is being driven by the RAP module so it could either be the relay or the module. Hope it helps.

Try disconnecting the battery for a while.

I will try finding the RAP in the morning and checking the relays.

I do not think its the switch in the door because the remote would still be responding I think.

I will also try disconnecting the battery after I check the RAP and relays

You may want to read up on how to turn off autolock if you have that on youe ex. Requires a sequence of steps you do withe the keys and the ignition switch.

If that helps you can narrow down where the problem is.
